COMMON QUESTIONS

FAQs

Answers to questions I'm often asked about therapy and working together.

  • I specialize in anxiety, codependency, people-pleasing, addiction and family-of-addiction dynamics, dissociation/shutdown, burnout, relationship patterns, and self-esteem issues.

  • This is a question many of my clients ask. Dissociation can look like tiredness, brain fog, or feeling 'checked out.' Part of our work together is learning to distinguish between these states and understand what your nervous system is communicating.

  • Numbness is often a protective response, a way your system learned to cope with overwhelming emotions. It's not a failure. In therapy, we can gently explore what's underneath the numbness when you're ready.

  • The first step is to schedule a consultation. This gives us a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy and to see if we're a good fit for working together.

  • The work that I do is personal and highly customized. However, on average, clients work with me for 6-12 months, but many find the work so valuable that they continue working with me for years.

  • Sessions are typically weekly, and we begin meeting in person. Consistency is important for building the kind of trust and safety that allows for deeper work.

  • I see clients during weekday hours. Specific availability is discussed during our initial consultation.

  • No, I do not accept insurance. I am an out-of-network provider and can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

  • I accept credit card, cash, and Venmo.

  • I require 48 hours notice for cancellations. This policy is designed to protect the structure and sustainability of the practice and to honor the time we've committed to your work together.
